Project iLLuSion

....(((((Introduction)))))....

Over the past few months, I've had some time off from modding. Life has been a big influence on not doing anything, LoL. During this time I've had the extreme pleasure of making some nice contacts and talking about builds, designs and other tech type of items. As time has came by, I was putting some feelers out about a build for the CES show coming up in January of 2013. This has been a dream of mine for some time now and its a true honor that I am able to do this.

So with out further adieu the case

....(((((Case)))))....

I formerly present Project "iLLuSion"

Yes the Phantom 820

....(((((Planned mods)))))....

New Side window with a custom made name plate
Using the in house Hue to make a custom lit motherboard plate
a redesign on the top section of the case.
If time allows a redesign of the front case footing
and a few other things.

....(((((Hardware)))))....

Gigabyte 990FXA UD3
AMD CPU????
RAM???
EVGA GTX670's

....(((((Final pics)))))....

Finally an update.... Srry for the wait everyone, been busy around here...

I been designing a few items that I am going to be using with this mod... first off is this

Some custom made fan grills

more logos with a case badge

Now getting to some modding... The start of the window...

The window is now cut.. putting it back on the case.. looks freaking awesome.

Time to remove some internal components

With the removal and the window back on all filled and straight.

Next Question....

Should I go big or small

big paint strip or

little strip???

help me make the call.

I think the smaller strip works better. Gives you more contrast between the two colors.

Ups... I think that you cut too much the window in the side panel... maybe a different cut would match better with that case's design (only an opinion! ^^')

Talking about that stripe, as LPRaver89 said, it would be better the smaller strip as it gives you more equality between the two colours.

Great job!

The window was cut like that for a reason that will be seen later on... But ty LPRaver and Ra6 for the input... small is going to take it all.

I got my package from Performance PCS today at work....

Here is the content of this package

3mm 480mm x 480mm plexi

5mm 480mm x 480mm plexi

The FAMOUS Mayhems Supernova Aurora..... good I love this stuff for shows.

Mayhems Dark red and Emerald Green dyes... .. I wonder what these are for...

Wire management clips

This next item is what I will be doing for my illuminated motherboard plate...

Just a teaser for now.

The Paint I will be using for the strip down the middle and other areas...

I am expecting a few more packages this week and then a nice weekend of modding.... till next time.

DP out

I really hate bad news. NZXTs CEO Pulled all builds on released cases. They will only display a new unreleased case for CES. This means my build will not get going to CES in this format and my sponsors will be pulling out, due to this event.

I under stand that this is out of my hands, but it really sucks. I was looking forward to some hardcore modding this weekend too. This project will go on, but on a longer time frame now.

DP out.
