Luckily I already have a soldering iron, so I am £20 up already!

When I eventually do get my hands on a Poker or similar, I am not sure whether I would take that or the Filco to work. The work keyboard is more likely to get key wear due to the amount of typing on it, so probably would take the smaller ANSI board as it would be easier to replace the keys.

Oh and I wanted to give my keyboard a full clean, so keys off and dust around etc. I can use denture tablets to clean the keys right?

Yeah they work a treat (denture tabs that is)

The ANSI boards certainly are easier to get caps for - although a lot of group buys now include an ISO option

MassDrop are now doing PCB only for the ErgoDox (and case only, and switches only in batches of 10) at $44 for a pair of PCBs (you obviously need two $22 PCBs)

You'll need to supply your own Teensy2, diodes, USB socket etcetera but these are all pretty easy to source.

Looking at various 87 form factor keyboard, it appears all of them are shipped from GuangZhou. I should've just bought one while I was there in summer. -_-

That said, this HPE looks nice, they a decent brnad or should I just go for the usual noppoo/ducky?

I was watching that one too, I had pretty much the same reaction when I checked on it last night. Still the seller just made £45-50, so I bet they are pretty happy about it.

lol - I remember going up to the checkout when I bought mine and got a rather strange look when I plonked them down alongside a bottle of wine (I resisted the urge to say something along the lines of "that's how I have a good time...")

Not got it yet, I have sent a PM but the guy hasn't been online since then. Someone else commented saying they PMd well I did, so they may have beaten me to it.

I am going to clean up my Filco tonight though, I will just use my MacBook while I clean and let dry.

What is the actual process for cleaning the keys? I assume pop off the keys, fill a bowl with water (warm/cold/tepid?), add X amount of tabs, chuck the keys in and wait for a while? I assume there is no risk of the legends being taken off by the tabs?

Rosewills are decent boards - just be sure to factor in possibly getting stung for 20% VAT & £8 'handling fee' on imports (you may get lucky and avoid it also though). 'Plunger switch' is just membrane / rubber dome from what I understand...

Have to wait & see - he might prefer that you're a UK buyer if the other buyer isn't. You've got the right idea as to cleaning them but I've only ever used denture tabs on doubleshots - I'd double check first that they definitely won't affect filco caps' legends

I get why some people there have said the things they have said - but I don't get why people from here are intentionally fueling that fire - or doing stuff intentionally to get a rise. In real life, intentionally going out of your way to piss someone off isn't the done thing, so I don't get why some people think it's alright online. If you at all refer to my for sale thread it was not intended as a troll, however some members of the GH community interpreted it that way, and basically kicked off! Notice how the thread is entitled *Constructive* Criticism and the attitude of a few members who posted were basically GTFO

185367-001 is G80-1838HPU browns and black on white white doubleshots. It's a nice board, I have one though I changed mine to reds. The top 2 rows are odd though, have same D profile like the tab row. If you want one you can get from ambry for $118 though I don't know if they ship international, could always proxy one if anyone wants.
HPE is an ok board, but for the money... I would probably rather go for a CM Rapid.
Not a bad price on the Rosewill, though I am sure that seller got them when they were on super discount for $25 last month. Even still it beats price on a Filco by far and it's nearly the same board.
