I see your Xbox PC and raise you a PS3 PC
Inspired by atc95 when he start his Xbox PC thread.
This came up in mind, that mod is unique, rare, eye caching, worth a try and most importantly donor case like that will not hurt my wallet. So I wander around at local market and found a cheap used PS3 FAT case. Before I start my log, I'd like to say ITX size thank you to atc95. ![]() ![]() 20$ for PS3 FAT case, cheaper than average PC case. But compared to Xbox, PS3 case is fully PLASTIC. I need to came up with something so this plastic case can hold the weight of my pc parts. I cant afford watercooling devices, so air cooling it is. I want a big data storage, SSD is not on my list. I want my PC powerful enough to play high end games, so i wont use integrated GPU. And in order to accommodate that I need minimum 450W ++ PSU Several parts I will use in this build: - Intel G840 - Biostar H61 ITX - Thermolab ITX30 - FSP Supersonic 550W - A GPU - PCIe riser 16x I already purchased a Gigabyte gtx560 OC, but it is 2 slot too tall to fit on this case. I'll just use HD 6670 from my previous build, while waiting a cheap afox 6850 single slot. I wish i could touch an afox 7850 ![]() I sell my gtx560 at 160$ today and still manage to get 10$ profit margin ![]() By the way, all parts above are... let say I got from people that gave me generously price decrease ![]() I love wandering around local market and bargaining stores to get perfectly working inexpensive PC parts ![]() sorry i forgot taking inside PS3 pics . I'll post more later.. The PSU that I use is nearly the same with my previous build, the Poor man's PC Mod. An FSP Super sonic 550. I will cut off that fan and make a smaller psu box. ![]() But before that, lets check PSU temps without fan air flow. 40C to 50C is the estimated temp when i squeeze this PSU into PS3 case ![]() Not final psu box, I'll paint it later ![]() I know this thread is too short to be called as a log. I'll post more pics after i deal with jakarta's flood

I'm planning to use 2 or 3pcs 4cm sunon fan on OEM hsf instead of thermolab ITX with 6cm very slim fan. I'll put those sunon in that configuration to minimize total mobo height. Bud sadly my ridiculously 21$ cheap 2x2GB PC16000 Trident (temporary RMAed with PC 12800 until next month) are blocking the air flow. Well, i'll change my trident with shorter ram later. |

Love it! Kingston does very low profile memory as far as I know.
