@Mankz, I havent decided yet...hmmm. Thank you for the comment dude!
@Ream, GOLD plated tech bench, hehe, that would be insane @bundymania, Thank you, and good to hear from you! @Andrew, will ask that they're given the "rattle test' before shipping We're utilizing two Aquacomputer Aqualis 450ml Reservoirs from Frozencpu. (approx. 80 x 80 x 170 mm) These measure 70mm in diameter and made from Borosilicate glass, so they're scratch resistant! There is no color absorption in this glass, so dye colors look more vibrant. 70mm Borosilicate glass tube. Aquacomputer's form-fitting D5 pump adapter, #34044 Mounting solution for the two Aqualis reservoirs, all aluminum design devised by Cheaps. and tomorrow is the big day, We're hosting the 1st Midwest Modders Meetup, tomorrow night, details are here, http://www.facebook.com/events/471641479539329/

![]() @shinji2k, lol, Thank you for watching and commenting! @Razarach, Cheaps and I have wanted to build an aluminum station for over a year now. We're very excited to see it's completion. Thanks for commenting!

Yeah, the Aqualis reservoirs are drool-worthy. I like that they sell the pyrex and O-rings individually too.
-Either they are really in tune with what the industry needs, or they read one of our glass res rants in Bit. I have a feeling it was the first part.I actually pulled the motherboard tray from the 2nd test bench I drew up to start this project. -so this is the 4th bench-style design. I really want to see #3 be built, but it was way to... petite for the parts involved here.

The footprint of this thing is massive! Love the design though. Props to cheaps on that.

-An appropriate spelling. Did you see the 20 pound clam shell lid?
![]() I have to apologize for holding this up. Machinists are used to getting tidy CAD files with layers and all the parts assembled together. Bill's machinist got ~30 files or so. -One for each part. There's been a lot of e-mail traffic in the background.

This weekend we started the task of making the ribs for the cover. Milling the 30 ribs from 1/8" thick sheet of 6061 aluminum. ... each one of the ribs takes 8 minutes. The ribs will be held in place with machined rods, which is next stage!

Those standoffs are killer, Bill! Billet aluminum has a way of classing up just about anything, but you take it way beyond!

@bulldogjeff, Thanks for tuning in and commenting!
@Cheaps, why not? and retail for scratch builders? @scirocco, Thank you for watching and commenting! ![]() The cover will be opened with a Linear actuator arm. It's powered by electric motor with gear drive inside that extends single arm back and forth. We debated about using two Linear actuators, one on each side, but decided to try one arm first and install 2nd, if needed later. Firgelli L16-P Linear Actuator, 100mm Stroke, 150:1 gear ratio, 12 volts @ $100 LAC (Linear Actuator Control Board) @ $0 Subtotal: $100.00 Tax: $0.00 UPS Ground Shipping: $15.58 Grand Total: $115.58 Mounting hardware included with Firgelli actuator. We will be making our own mounting brackets. Order page for Firgelli L16-P Use the L16-P as linear servo by purchasing an LAC board. Pricing: $80 per unit for switches or feedback. $10 per unit discount when you buy 10. Save $20 when you purchase with an LAC board. The L16 is a scaled up version of the L12 with a larger motor for faster speeds and heavier loads. Standard options include: three stroke lengths and three force/speed combinations(gear ratios). Each actuator has 2 internal limit switches to shut off the power once the end of stroke is reached. These switches cannot be moved. All our actuators come with a hardware kit for mounting.
