Scratch Build ECS Modmen Case Mod Entry Fire & Ice

Well I had a little time between Lan parties and Builds ( still waiting for one to come back) I decide to give it a go in the ECS Modmen competition, http://www.ecsmodmen.com/ I had this concept before in 2009 and after a few complete ice mods I was ready to attempt to build it. The build will be called Fire & Ice, making the case from liquid resin and trying to use a least amount of metal possible with a waterfall reservoir.




I purchased the ECS model P67H2-A2 Deluxe

First thing is getting my layout on The board that i will be using for my mold and double checking measurements.

After letting the resin harded for about 2days here is the end result

More plexi has arrived to finish my newest feature to the case.

Wait. This is a new one? I saw it over on ModZoo and thought you were adding an older log. -Senility sucks.
I like the idea of adding plexi to cast. will you be gluing/fusing it?

I have a few older ones out there.

But this one is live and new as its gets! my wife says i smell like resin.

I will be glueing some in and fusing the top panel.

hi jj_sky5000, first of all well done for a very interestin g worklog, is really something new i like it.
i also have a question, maybe you could help me with.
did you have any difficulty getting your data up to the ecsmodmen site.
i opened an account and set it up them after i had confirmed it via email, i could also log in.
the first time i was in it said click on the account button to change my data etc.. after i did that all i got was a (my account is being axamined and i should wait for the email saying i am fully loginable.
i thought ok, but then wehn i now login, all i get is click on the account button below, which is not there. it just doesnt appear. have cleared all temps and cookies etc.. have used other computers too and also my smart phone, always the same phenomena. do you have this problem too.

i even sent a email like advised to info@ecsmodmen.com and get a nt deliverable message, non existing. something is very wrong, even the emil add. wont work.
appreciate any help you can give, are you also haveing problems.

I wanted to do something different and cut them out myself instead of using the large hole cutter.

Started working on the Floating tier for the MB. Thank you old trusting Intel for making a perfect template for Drilling holes for Standoffs

Small update,

using a small bit of clear epoxy to secure the sides to each other and base.

Wow this is really beginning to look incredible! I love the idea of wrapping the reservoir around the components themselves, very novel, it's also a pretty ballsy move so good luck. The ice effect from the resin is really striking.

Thank you Cheapskate, tried to make this ice case a little different than the other 4 lol, that was my first rez, now i have tons more ideas now that i made one. i dont recommend a table saw and a palm sander when making one through lol
