User Reviews

It struck me that all reviews are 'out of box' reviews. How about a 'modders review' forum section? It would provide an easy to search buyers guide and could include all sorts of info that you don't normally get on a product such as how easy it is to add a volt modd in the case of motherboards, small quirks in the display of monitors, accessibility of cases, achieved overclocks on processors (with details of cooling and stepping), how easy it is to , etc

People could review things they've bought and give us all an idea of what they think, other reviews/comments/opinions on the same item could be added to thread. What does everybody think?

it sounds like a brilliant idea, i was thinking of starting a reveiw website like that, * www.pcmodz.tk <-click INDEX.html * so instead of saying how good it actually was, saying about more indepth things, and actually using the item for a week or 2 to find out how good it really is over a long term basis, so i thing this is a really good idea

I've always liked the idea of having a forum for user reviews. Bit-tech can't review everything because of the huge amount of products out there and the time it takes to do a review.

Never would have found that thread...what happened to it? It sounded like it might actually come about

Do you think enough people would support this to make it viable?

Hopes

Sorry guys, in short I can say this will probably never happen - not on the forums at least.
If you have something you'd like to review, as always you can email one of the team and arrange to have your article published.

No prob.. will send it to you again when I have the time. Not urgent.. just noticed you had no keyboard reviews on Bit-Tech, and I've been putting a couple of wireless desktops through their paces.

We have several keyboard reviews including wireless???

Reviews should be sent to either myself or cheese in plain text format. (MS Word format will be rejected)

So you have. You already have a MX700 review, so the Logitech Desktop MX won't be of any use to you. I also reviewed a Belkin wireless desktop, so may send you that.

Whenever I buy something... I usually write a review. You never know when it comes in handy, and I like writing anyway

Incidentally.. if you want stuff sent as plain text, I assume you want images attached to the mail? Can't think of any other way to get them to you.

Go for it

Just put a "pic 1" etc tag were you want pics to go.

I know Bit Tech offers some excellent reviews, but theres a whole community here that puts kit through its paces every day, thats a lot of reviews to draw upon. The other thing offered by something like this is that bugs, glitches, features, hacks, overclocks, mods and secondary uses that don't get picked up on in your usual reviews would crop up here and in a record! (Unlike the disorganised modding forum where searching is pot luck!)

Just my 2 cents

It may have escaped some peoples attention that most reviews here at bit-tech take place over several weeks at least to gauge a products qualities. Reviews are not out of the box!

Both keyboards I wrote the reviews for were tested over a 2 month period.
