AMD 64 Motherboard and Chip

Hiya i havent been here for a while so i thought i would post some of my q's here for you.

I have some plans for a new project and want to use AMD's 64 bit chip i have been looking around and come to the decision that iam going to go for the 3000+ chip the problem is do you got for 754 or 939?

Motherboard i have been looking at is the Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe this board was reviewed in issue 16 of custom pcs and has been in their custom pc eilite for a while now and with a nifty price tag of only £110 i think it is a synch.

Your suggestions are welcome as always
Cheers
Rich

That board is 939, so there's you're answer
939 = dual channel mem, 754 = single channel.

Definitely go 939, although bear in mind you'll need a PCI-E graphics card (or two ) if you do go for the A8N.

Wait and see if you can get your hands on a Venice core 3000+ as well

do you really want to go for a 3000, is it budget limited?

im under the impression that the majority of 3000+ will overclock a fair bit so it might actually be cheaper to get one of those and clock to 3500 speeds, unless you can afford a 4000.
