Not a new idea --there was a vector-based game for the Amiga with the same premise. Still, could be fun.

Ha ha ha, Darkedge. Give Maxis a break. I have always loved Maxis games, and this is a truly brilliant idea; When all the content is up to you to create with detailed, 3D worlds, this could be a lot of fun

This really does stand a chance at being great. And if anyone can design a great sim- anything, it's maxis. I still remember playing sim-life a long time ago...back in the days of dos...dos....mmmmmmm...wha? wha? don't wake me up, I'm remembering...back when you youngin's wasn't even thought of yet!

(it seems like so, so long ago!)

I read an interview with Will Wright saying that he doesn't plan on expansion packs for Spore and want to support online trading...but he didn't say it would be free.

I have loved SimCity since the first one, and my wife is still hooked on the Sims, so I will probably try spore out.

Maxis will be the death of me. My wife absolutely loves the various sim games. I don't understand it, but she always seems to do so well. Sim City (and the subsequent versions), Sims (both 1 and 2), Sim Farm, Sim Tower, Sim-whathaveyou.

She's always so successful.

And I'm sure we'll end up buying this game as well.

I agree that if anyone can produce a successful Sim version of evolution, it would be the folks behind the other Sim variants.

It's already been mentioned, there was a version of "Sim-Evolution" called (Unsurprisingly) "Sim Life".

Though the screenshot shows a lot more detail than that was.
