Will be great, but as you say - do we really need another wireless option?

So how will this work? Another PCI card, with with an aerial out the back instead of USB slots? Plug a USB-B wireless dongle into all your devices?

Hopefully it'll drop the price of bluetooth then.

the hole point is that wireless usb 2.0 is as fast as wired usb 2.0 this means that gamers for example can finaly start to buy wireless mouses that do not lag ar go to slow like bluetooth. also thi8s makes devisel like wireless harddrives posible and many other cool stuff that would need hi banwith.

Could this finally mean cheap wireless webcams for potentially exciting uses?

I'd love to know how they intend to transmit the power that 9/10 of the USB devices these days use (Wireless USB Christmas lights?).
Wireless power would be truly fantastic, though most likely very difficult (If not impossible) to make, or at least make safely. Think high-power microwave transmissions - not being able to hold your mouse as the "Power" transmissions would fry your hand...

Sounds interesting, but I personally don't want to deal with batteries or worse - more wall warts.

Excellent, so this means wireless USB TV. I hate having to have my PC next to my TV wall socket, it means I can put my PC anywher ein my room now.
Also for those who use USB cable modems. they can truely put their PC anywhere now, depending on the range. who needs expensive wireless routers and PCI cards when a wireless USB link will sort it. I do like the idea of having a wireless USB web cam at my front door now so i can keep an eye on stuff. another cool bonus would be to link my phone to my PC and receive calls through the PC without the phone making that awful "mobile vs speaker" sounds as I could keep the phone some distance from the PC with wireless USB. Sure I wont be able to use my keyboard and mouse this way due to lack of power, but a keyboard and mouse are something that needs to be relativly close to your PC anyway. and I am sure because of this, people will invent USB mice and keyboards with built in bateries and wireless USB. |

wireless = more annoying and buggy than cords
Cords don't require batteries or device syncing.

Even though I've been a bit of a corded person, I'm starting to get into the whole wireless thing, I just wish they'd sort power issues out. Why do we have rechargable mice but not keyboards?! imo if you're going to make something wireless then a charging station or cable is a must.

because keyboard batteries last _months_, and it's just another cable to clutter up your desk. I've had my DiNovo set for two years, and changed the batteries three times, for each of the two keyboard bits. The mouse, however, complains if you don't dock it when you're not using it - as far as i can see it doesn't have a sleep mode, so if you leave it on your desk it just drains its battery. Is this the same for the rest of the rest of the MX series, as it seems to me it's a significant flaw - maybe they thought it was worth it as it avoids waiting for your mouse to wake up.
