Ahh, it all becomes clear, the worst kept secret in the industry

Good going guys, in the time I've visited the site it has moved on leaps and bounds, and the rate of growth has been phenomenal.
The site even looks more professional, it's a more grown up place, and as ever the forum is alive.

Just hope the site ethos remains.

I am very happy for you guys! Now you're making money for what you love to do! Isn't that what we all desire to achieve? I hope that Bit-Tech will not become too professional leaving average forum poster and fan down below...

I really don't want to sound ungrateful, as bit-tech is an excellent resource and it's provided completely free to us...but,

Quote:
We're committed to a finger-breaking schedule of monthly content that gives you more mods than ever before to ogle at, more hardware reviews than ever before to lust after, more games articles, more opinion, more news, more community.
For the most part that's true, but it seems like bit-tech's article production has turned more to hardware and has moved away from modding. Might be a consequence of how the site has suddenly gone pro, but maybe there should be more mods for us to ogle at?

Yeah I realise that but it tends to be cluttered with projects that never go anywhere (like mine actually) and generally when there are mod articles on the main site they're of a higher quality. For example I've seen very few project logs that compare to any of the cases on the main site. Also, it's not the most pleasant experience wading through ten pages of 'oh my god you're my hero!!!11one' when you're actually looking to see the project itself.

So how about picking the best logs out of the forum and have the modder in question write up a proper article to be posted on the front page? Sounds like a good idea to me, only you need a staff member to roam the forums looking for thses mods

So, just making sure I got things straight-a consumer advocates website is now paying you to do what you do, so that means you can support our three favorite editors with cash sums to make them work even harder than before.

Congratulations, bit-tech; Just get some pro modders on the pay-roll and youre all set

Iirc that's where the last few front page mods have come from, Orac3 and Hypercube spring to mind but I'm sure there are more.

We're working on just that. We're aware that mod content has gone down a little bit compared to hardware over the past few months: part of this change is to enable us to address that Stay tuned for June!

Ok so this may be a daft question and feel free to slap me silly if you take offence at the thought of it all, but we are not going to be asked to pay to join the site with a subscription now this has happened are we?

I only ask as I have been a part of sites that have gone that way in the past
