Heh..now that is a slick idea. Not sure I like the corded DVIs, but I suppose I'm not sure what else you would do in that situation.

think i might be being stoopid, but why does it need the ports on cords?
i.e. why can't they be on the card directly?

It truly does not but to make the rear connector look cleaner it does or they could inclued 2 rear brackets

I disagree. How often are you expected to change the slot type for the card? It takes about 30 seconds to swap the plate over. For people like me, it means having cords either above the card where my pipes and cables and rear fans go, or below the card where my sound card, tv card and second graphics card is!
And anyway, as GOO mentioned, having a bracket will support this card, while having immensely long cables won't. |
