OCZ 6GB with i7 920?

I will have an intel i7 920 processor with an asus p6t D motherboard and want to know if this is a good RAM choice. I am going to get 2 kits to have 12 GB total.

OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P1600LV6GK - Retail

that ram will be fine but i recomend that you only buy one set as 2 sets can limit your overclocking ability and very few people need 12gb ram spend the money on something else

I'd suggest either Corsair or Patriot RAM. I originally bought a 6GB OCZ kit for my i7 920 and P6T v2 motherboard and the OCZ RAM was crap -- never ran at rated speed or timings. OCZ claimed it was an Asus issue -- I wasn't sold on that really, I swapped it for a Patriot kit for $10 less that's been running without a single hitch. I've *always* had problems with OCZ RAM and Asus motherboards. After 3 attempts I don't plan to go back to them.

Hmm, I see what you mean now after reading some more reviews.

How about this kit:

Dominator GT is overpriced, but its a 2000MHz Dominator kit so its a monster. You can save quite a bit of cash by going with the less expensive 1866MHz kit as thats more than enough.

For best compatibility, and cost effectiveness I'd stick to DDR3-1600Mhz. Anything from Corsair will be fine. Patriot Viper is great too.
