Add more ram but lower overall speed, what to do??

Hi Y'all,

I currently have 4 GB of Corsair XM2 DDR2 1066 ram, I've been given a 2 GB module of 800 MHz. Is it worth adding the extra 2 GB to create 6 GB of ram, but at the cost of lowering overall ram speed down to 800 MHz? I use the PC for general purposes, gaming, work and watching movies etc, but no real memory hog tasks.

Quick question (and it might be a daft one) - what OS are you running? If it's 32-bit, it won't make a difference to capacity, but will knacker speed.

As far as 64-bit goes, even Crysis doesn't need 6GB. Unless you start hammering Photoshop on a regular/heavy basis, I wouldn't. Course, if you overclocked, you might be able to get all 3 sticks running around the 900-ish MHz mark, or higher with slacker timings. Just a thought...
