X.M.P.
Hello everyone.
I built my first PC a while ago, these are the parts: Motherboard: Asus P6T SE RAM: Corsair DDR3 XMS3 6GB @ 1600MHz GFX Card: NV GTX 260 Case: CM HAF 932 CPU: i7 920 HDD: WD Caviar Black 640 GB CPU Cooler: Titan Fenrir PSU: Corsair HX 750 Now, I have tested the X.M.P. RAM profile and I did notice a performance increase. The thing is that I am not keen on overclocking for a number of reasons, so I want to know, is X.M.P. a very stable overclock setting and will it have a significant impact on the life of my components? Also, since it is "Intel X.M.P.", will it void the CPU warrenty. Thanks. |

XMP are just inbuilt settings designed to run the RAM at the speeds it was designed at. They should be very stable unless the RAM itself is faulty.
Also, it is impossible to tell whether or not a processor has been overclocked (ok, burnt out from LN2 sessions with 1.8v or something might leave a mark...). Thus, cannot void your warranty. You are not overclocking the processor anyway, just the RAM. Laz
