Gainward Unveil CoolFX

Yes boys and girls, that is it. After the long running saga that was the joint effort between Gainward and Bit-tech to create a water-cooling project, Gainward have finally come up with something! This doesn't use any elements of Bladerunner's original design - as it turns out, that design was simply too high-class to be manufacturered properly. This module has been designed by Gainward and Innovotek and is certainly a novel design. You can see at the top the two intakes - the block integrates memory and gpu coolers so that multiple intakes aren't needed.

More pics as we get em - feel free to post questions / comments.

uhh how ugly...

in my opinion the bt solution looks more neat...

btw why did they choose innovatek instead of aquacomputer for manufacturing the blocks !?
ac products are pure high quality in comparrison to innovatek cooling solutions...

Unfortunatly we found the original blocks BT were unable to be mass produced (although dead sexy!). As to the innovatek relationship, i was impressed with their work and they currently manufacturer some really classy blocks. This is the final product for the first coolFX cards but as we get more and more feedback we will take everything into consideration on V2. Please let me know if you have any questions..

I think the asthetics may change, we are looking into colouring etc, will keep you all posted... That may be a V2 thing though.

chips to the left are the VIVO functions, so no cooling really needed unless you really want to go to town on the card!!!!!! As yet no info on the flipside, i will update as and when i get more details and a sample to play with. I will be sending one to the bit-tech team to review so watch this space for the full low-down!

The card definently still looks great.

Better then most of the cards with 3 or 4 fans.
I would guess that this card could be overclocked a ton.
(Not that we want to )

Easy on those exclamation marks tiger!

They are the Philips (groan!) SA chip with TV out (and TV in depending on the chip, either way its a crap cause philips are piss poor TV chips ) and the Silicon Image DVI out chip. You are right that they dont need cooling.

Only the 256meg versions have ramchips on the back dont they?? Im assuming that's a 128meg version then? The rear chips only had a passive heatsink on them anyway (iirc, havent read that many FX reviews).

Whoa, there was a link to this thread on the first page of toms hardware... *feels special*

You said it's $525 with the pump, radiator, etc.
So you have a version with all the kit you need, but do you have a version for people who already have all the bits for watercooling?
And what size hose barbs does it use?

not at the mo although that may come to fruition shortly based on demand. If thats what the customer wants, thats what the customer gets. *lol* will use less! I have a feeling that this pic was taken on a 5900 rather than a 5900U so the memory is on one side. Will try to get more details asap and post.
