Hello Macroman,
Is it possible to use three different LEDs instead of one RGB LED? BTW, we really need some pics and a video!! ![]() Keep up the good work.

Theoretically speaking, with 1024 columns and 768 rows (if they are 3mm) that would give me a nice 3+ meter screen.... now, where to find a converter to convert a VGA signal to some sort of active matrix LED driver...

As stated in the article getting a good vid is damn near impossible with the kit I have. The led just whites out the picture and doesn't appear to do much! ![]() I will keep trying and see what I can come up with. ![]() Ice-T yes

How about recording the reflection on an object, a wall or something?

Macro, I really want to do this but due to lack of skills I cant do the curcuit board thingy. What is the easiest way of creating one? and what do I need?

nice work dude, however i do want to take it a bit further...
if i wanted to wire up, say, 8 more tricolour leds to the circuit, would i have to build 9 separate circuits or could i run them all off one? also potentially, could i wire them up so at any one time, 3 are green, 3 are red, and 3 are blue, and as they change colour they shift colour along a line of them, like a chaser?

As it stands the circuit is designed to run one led only. The transistor stage could be redesigned to run more leds.
As for the chaser idea, the way to do it would be to repeat the IC2/transistor parts for each section and drive them all from the same clock (IC1). |

nice, but...
how dyou do that! all i can do is solder! making the hdd light kit of yours was nice and easy thanks to the diagram and a list of components... would it be too much to ask if you could possibly draw me up a wiring diagram for 9 leds ala chaser idea with a list of components pleeeese? be very much appreciated

a) laser printer (dont have 1) b) UV box (cant afford 1) or c) drawing by hand (urgh) or... how about some nice person out there actually making me one of the 10 individual LED version PCBs? Of course I'd be more than happy to pay you for your time and materials And if that was possible (starts to push his luck) could you make me one of those rainblow effect PCBs too?

5V?
What all would need to be changed for this to run on a 5V power source? Is it even possible with the ICs and transistors? Many of the LED headers in a PC are 5V, which is why I ask.
