Modding 30 Minute Bin Repair!

    I've been meaning to repair our small waste food bin which got blown over and broken during the winter since... well, winter! I spent about half an hour bodging this together today and thought I would share it with you :) Everything except the two M4 nuts and bolts was scraps or spares that I found lying around the workshop.

    This is what the original hinge looks like:

    It's sort of a "chewing gum & twine" repair, but it works!

    That happened to our green bin.

    I called the council and the binmen fitted a new lid next bin day :).

    Nice repair job though.

    Ours get blown off down the mountains all the time the council just replaces them.

    You couldn't get our council to change a street light bulb, never mind replace a broken bin! :hehe: That being said, I never actually asked for a replacement. Oh well, I think the new hinge will hold up for a while longer :thumb:

    I'm more a fan of black gaffer tape ;)
