I would say that the 960 represents good value for the performance offered. My 660ti cost me £238 in November 2012.

I think the launch of the 900 series absolutely decimated the second hand values of the 600 and 700 cards - more so than previously seen, when a new line launches.

So when the 960 arrives at £160 but is significantly slower than a second hand 770 available for £120, the reception will be a bit flat; and a power saving isn't a big enough "feature" to justify the difference.

Second hand 770s at around 120 quid...whereabouts? I've seen some in that range, but most people are actually trying to justify 200+ prices for 770s now the 960 doesn't really give people a step up in performance (albeit an unwarranted expectation for the 960 before it even launched!).

    200+ on the 4gb 770 models I might ad...

Given your post count, you don't have access to our marketplace, so you won't see them.

    A 680 is faster.

I think it's fair to say the 960 was a disappointment, we will almost defiantly see a Ti version, and if rumors are to be believed we will also see another two cards slotting in between the 960 and 970, possibly a 960 Ti and a faster version of the Ti.

    Not enough ROPs? :p

OK, joking, joking! I agree with jrs77 though: at the price/performance point it should be close to 100W and be a compact card.

My GTX760 cost less than £180 (MSI Gaming) and it's fine. Would like a lower power draw, but bearing in mind I moved from AMD to Intel processors I've seen quite a drop in power use recently anyway...

Oh, and World of Warships runs at over 60fps in 1080p on max...

It's designed to stop people abusing the site.

I would strongly advise against spamming your way to the required post count too - it is frowned upon and the mod squad will be less than thrilled. :p

There is no reason to upgrade from my 670 any time soon, and for £180 it was a bargain. The 960 was a big disappointment.

The 960TI will have to be less than 200 quid to be worth buying (else the price gap to the 970 would be too small to make the 960TI worth considering).

So obviously the vanilla 960 should be clearly below 150, hell make that sub 140 (current price of a r9 280).

Yes, exactly. When 960ti arrives there will have to be a price adjustment downwards for 960. I'm guessing in a few months, after NVidia have made as much money as they can from 960 early adopters.

Now, if you want evidence that 960ti is coming, just have a look at the naked board shots of any 960 card. There's empty solder pads on each side of the card to accommodate another two ram chips. adding them in would give you a card with 3GB ram on a 192-bit bus.

960ti will probably be made from very defective 970/980 chips, with the bus cut down to 192-bit and some number of shader cores between 1024 (960) and 1664 (970). Perhaps 1280?

Anyway, if I were in the market for a mid-range card, I'd hold on to my money for a few more months. I have to agree that 960 is overpriced/under-performing compared to previous generations and not a good upgrade for 760/660ti owners.

For me the 960 is exactly what I was epxecting: about half the performance of the 980, which has by and large been the norm for the good mid-range cards like the legendary 6600GT or GTX 260.
