It reminds me of Half Life 2.

First the pre-rendered video is amazing...

then the gameplay looks not bad either...

Ok this is funny. On my RSS feed of the forum, I see this: "Windows Dishonoured FPS gothic Sci-fi". I was like "Windows Dishonored FPS?!?! What?! Someone is going to claim that Windows was specifically designed to throttle FPS games or something ridiculous like that..." HAHA!

    Nice game, btw.

:) Viktor Antonov was the art director for Half-life 2, and is now working on Dishonored.

This looks to be a very interesting game. From the pre rendered video it looks amazing. The interview was great too. I love idea of doing things differently instead of always the same set routine.

LoL. So the title made you curious. :)

Well it's about time we had an fps with the scope and style of HL2. Valve certainly aren't gonna bring us that anymore. Would be ironic if the game for whatever reason didn't appear on steam.

    Thinking outside the pyramid.

    Indeed.

I didn't even stop to look for release date. Too taken with the vids.

When will it be built and what spec?

I've been following this for a while, still excited :) Somehow the knowledge that Bethesda is publishing this gives it some extra credibility in my eyes, though ultimately I suppose the game will stand or fall on whether it is as sandboxy as its devs maintain. There was an interview a few months back where they detailed some of the emergent gameplay coming through from internal testing which made it sound pretty awesome.

so that's how you get to post in monitor threads so fast!

at first, i was like "wow, a game with correct spelling!" then wikipedia search turned up empty with the correct spelling :(

Yeah, I am not buying it until they translate it into English!

I do like how it's looking though - sandboxy, not on rails, non-linear - all buzzwords I like, but rarely does a game actually stand up to them. I'll probably buy it even if I have to play it in American ;-)

Colour me I interested. It reminds me of Theif crossed with Ac, plus the aforementioned HL2 influences. I shall have to look into buying this once my pc is sorted again.

Be interesting to see what recommended specs are... wondering if I should keep my spare GTX580 just in case?

I doubt it, none of the screenshots suggest anything particularly troubling - for one thing it is set in a city, which is usually far less taxing than a jungle etc. Wikipedia suggests it's using a modded Unreal engine, though idk where they get that from.

    From here.

Q: Why doesn't Dishonored take advantage of the idTech5 engine?

A: The game was in early development before we joined Bethesda. We're certainly impressed by everything idTech5 has to offer, but Dishonored is being crafted with a custom version of the Unreal Engine, including plenty of features developed in-house.
