Okay a friend of mine has two bent pins in his socket775 motherboard and he wants me to fix it! Its an old striker extreme motherboard so no warrenty and nothing to loose. I'v read other posts on the forum was wondering if anyone has any past experiances with this problem and what tips they can give me. If i remember correctly they were bent backwards, il try draw up a pic from my head, lol nothing fancy just what i can recall.
done it to CPU pins, but LGA pins are smaller, so a magnifying glass and some jewelers screw drivers would be a good place to start...
I find an empty mechanical pencil to be ideal for this in most cases. Empty the mechanical pencil of lead first and then slip the head of the pencil over the bent pin if you can get at it. That should give you an easy way to (gently!) lever the pin back into its correct position.
I've not tried this but worth a look at least http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=630041
