    Right, I haven't overclocked since my Duron 600 days !!!

    I picked up a Novatech base unit for £55 with the following;

    E3400 Celeron Dual Core
    2gb DDR1333
    80gb Sata
    Foxconn G41MXP (http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDetail.aspx?T=motherboard&U=en-us0000485)
    Intel stock HS

    I have smashed the FSB up to 1066 from 800 with the RAM linked to SPD with no probs (3.45ghz from 2.6ghz)
    Stable as a bag full of stable stuff
    2758 on CPU Mark from 1682 stock

    What is the best I could achieve with this chip?
    It's a 45nm chip, but is it a 1333 dropped to 800 by default?
    There is no voltage increments as far as I can see in the Bios

    Any HS to recommend (S775) for quietness? Intels drones on

    Would there be any real benefits buying a Q8xxx or a Q9xxx over the E3400?

    Thanks

    My advice? Post this in the hardware subforum. Then someone might actually see it ;)
