    I just bought a D40x for a bargaintastic price on ebay. All seems totally fine with it, apart from the shutter count After uploading the last JPEG I took onto myshuttercount.com it says Shutter actuations....64. That's it, not 640, or 6400 or even 64000, just 64. Is that even possible on a 7 year old camera?

    Is it possible to reset such data?

    Other than that though, it's an incredible bit of kit for £70.

    I had a camera with 12 that was 2 years old as I didn't use it. Perhaps it was purchased on a whim and put in a cupboard and gather dust?

    Either it is correct or wrong, shutter count hardly means anything. Just go out and shoot with it!

    My second hand 5D mark 2 is now over 160k on shutter count, they are rated to be 150k. But it still goes like new.

    I don't care if it's 64 or 64000, I do care that it's been messed with before selling it, if that is the case though.

    By the time I have finished with it, it'll be astronomically high anyway. I just find it hard to believe that a 7 yr old camera has only taken less than 60 photo's before i got it today.

    Well after a lot of searching around, it seems it cannot be reset, under any circumstances, so it looks as though I got a brand new camera somehow! WINNING!! :D

    Why thank you kind sir. For my next trick, I will be joining the ' Welcome to the 'lens that doesn't really want to work on this camera' club. I'm going to be buying lots of £20 lenses and experiment the f**k out of them :D The adapter will probably cost more than the lenses.

    Helios 44-2 55mm F/2 - Super Takumar 55mm F/1.8 - Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 50mm F/2.8 - these lenses from TheBlackSwordsMan's sig are great ones to try. I'd add a Jupiter 3 50mm f1.5 to the list.

    I've got one of these on the way to me;

    Either gonna be great for 20 quid, or utter crap. Although, there are good reviews for them here.

    Just bought a load of OM and M42 mount lenses today, both prime and telephoto. Can't wait to get started. I'm thinking the GF1 might be the way to go with the OM, and try the telephoto's out on the Nikon.
