The article doesn't say that it's definitively false, but I do agree that it's most likely fake and part of 4chan's negative PR campaign. Anyways, I'm now about 20 minutes into the game and my impressions are mixed. Everything feels the same as ME2, and some of the writing honestly makes me cringe... in one part, you have a full squad of 3 and Shepard just kicks out DudeBro McSteroids for some random reaspon so you can have Liara and Kaiden/Ashley in your party as some kind of ME1 throwback, I guess? It wasn't very well done imo, why not give the player a choice of squad? The forced emotional-impact cutscenes are also really, really forced.
The main reason for that is so you're: a) You're introduced to your Squad Mates on a more Personal Level (i.e. forced to use them to know how they operate). Which then links into: b) Show you how certain classes play (i.e. using Biotics/Tech Attacks etc.) since you might not have exposure to them as your class.
They could have done it like they did during the ME2 loyalty missions - you have to use a certain squadmate (Liara, in this case) but you're free to choose the other one. I understand about the abilities though, I forgot that some people might not have played so much ME1 and ME2.

the gameplay seems really console and I couldn't import my me2 save with my old face.. it said not recognized uniform textures could be better ashley could be a tranny.. I did see a buldge down there but didn't get a pic sorry.. I think shepard has turned too cause his voice went up like 3 octaves.. I dunno what's going on to tell you the truth.. wish could get my old face back.. the character creation in this one has all the wrong noses, so you either look white, black, or a crack dealer in bangkok
well have to start over.. this kid died and made me roid rage quit xD gotta be a way to save him.. switched to adept too- shepard is smoking these guys with cheats.. can probably play this sleep
When I pre-ordered in August I forgot I'd be at college so I have to wait a week until spring break. But it does give me some time to finish ME2 with more survivors than I had on my first finish.
Pretty sure you can't save the kid. He shows up in a horrendously bad dream sequence you are forced to play after the first mission.
Indeed... i think it sort of crosses a line of "trying to evoke emotion". I mean my Shepard's got the Ruthless background and has sacrificed numerous people to complete the mission... surely "acceptable losses" comes into play here. Not to mention she's given the whole speech about "it's war, people die".
