Other PC software to wipe Android

I've just picked up an Android phone that I need to wipe as there's stuff left after the factory wipe.

Any suggestions for free PC software to do this?

Then looking to root and put a different OS on it

U checked it's not stuff on a mem card on the phone?

I've done plenty of factory wipes and nothing was left on the device

 

Thanks, I just checked, and there's no additional card.

Also took the old SIM out, and the spurious contacts have gone

Now, looking for root options

Ahhh, Xda, I'd forgotten about them.

It's an HTC 310, which I thought I'd put in the OP; obviously not!

Works a little crappy atm, long story. TLR the role that I had interim, that I thought I was keeping someone else has been hired into. They started yesterday, as it stands I only have a job title from next month, no job description or salary information yet. As you can imagine it's a little stressful.

Once dust settles I'll start on my build!
