Does anyone know if there'll be any further AM1 processors beyond the 5350? I'm tempted by this for a HTPC but am wondering if it's likely to be a bit of a tech cul-de-sac?

The anandtech review stated the next generation should share the socket.

Should is a nice word but the truth is nobody accept AMD can answer that question.

The next CPU will 100% share the socket.

Thanks Parge I'll base my buying on that piece of advice then.

Even without the Anandtech article, you only have to look at other AMD sockets. All support at least two generations of CPUs.

Yes and I rarely find I upgrade a CPu without the motherboard being switched as well anyway. The price of the AM1 setups is so low they're practically disposable! Just seemed strange not to have any sniff of new processors yet.
