if you could just post the textures, I mean just the bitmaps, not the maxwell materials. that would be better, I don't have maxwell

Do you mean the bump maps, since there aren't any bitmap textures in Maxwell (The copper uses a .IOR file for the color and index of refraction and a few bitmaps for surface scratches and such)?

Welcome Metric, so glad to hear from you. Even better that your sharing your wonderful talents with us. Metric is one of the 3D gurus I was honored to know. Beware of this guy he is a wizard when it come to 3D design and rendering.

Hope to see more of your work here and I know we will learn much from you.

Any specifics you had in mind, like scene setup, lighting, materials? I'm currently using Rhino 4 and it usually just consists of a large diffused white horizontal plane with either an HDRI environment for lighting or emitter planes. As for materials, I use the ones from the Maxwell Material Gallery website.

Those are impressive renders.
Do you do commercial work? I'm sure you would be paid plenty if you did.

Thanks 500mph. To answer your question, I currently don't do any commercial work, but I've been considering it recently (need a source of income to fuel my never-ending need for more hardware lol). I'm actually a CS major right now in college, but I've always had a passion for digital art for about 10 years. I've been considering adding engineering to my school work (maybe as a minor) since only manufacturing students have access to the university CNCs and waterjets

Finals are coming up this week, so probably nothing new from me for a week or so, but if anyone here has a model they'd like rendered, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do for you

May as well contribute something:

It's a heatsink I pulled from a broken 360, modeled in Sketchup and rendered in KT. Not at all to the standard in which a lot of these other renders are though. I'm open to critique and advice as always. I have a lot of trouble with materials and scenery as you can probably tell.
