I remember these from when I was younger: Linky

Not sure if this is what she is after, but it seems to fit the description.

    Yes I do.
Our kits got a dinosaur fossil in an egg from Wilkinson's I think. You had to dust off the sand/egg material to reveal the dinosaur thing. It made a hell of a mess.

Have you tried asking her to point it out in the argos book like we had to as kids?

And yes disney stuff is crazy expensive.

Which would you rather do: Show her 1 or 2 pages in a catalogue, or take her to a toy store?

Neither sounds particularly appealing. She will see something that cost's 10x as much that I can't afford then I feel bad saying no :D

EDIT: I'll pop into Asda on the way home and see what they have got :D

Mate I feel your pain. Grace got addicted to those little Magic Clip Disney princesses, only problem is they wanted £6.99 each and there were loads.

Ended up not being able to find the last two so bought a box set from a toy shop, took out the ones she was missing and sold the rest on eBay.

It didn't hurt that the auction ended up going for nearly as much as I'd paid for the complete box, but the things are cripplingly expensive.

Our house is full of empty eggs at the minute - I think she likes the eggs more than the crap inside them

I had a Mr Frosty as a lad, but it's much the same concept:

Such joy indeed, those were simpler times.

I suggest you turn it in to a learning exercise for her and get her to research it. Ask her how she knows about it and go from there. It will test how much she actually wants one.

Anyone else have a short-lived obsession with Darda cars? They were like the poor man's Scalextric, but maaaaan they were quick.

To this day I believe that the interchangeable motors were what got me into disassembling stuff as a kid - and are probably why I'm typing this right now!

I had one of these and had endless hours playing with it.

Tried to rekindle my childhood through my son by buying him the action man version and it was utterly awful, it went a foot and fell over spinning it's back wheel.

Yes I am. Crazy. Mad as a box of frogs.
It is like torture for them. Being naughty are you kids. Here look at this book...

    Dad can I have...
    No not until you behave.

    Problem solved.

Also porkins I like that method too, is that a technique you have actually tried though.
