Recently reinstalled Win 7 and my pc keeps firing itself up with no input.

I have disabled every network wake event but it keeps doing it.

    Anyone got an idea?

Doesn't the reason for the wake up get stored in the event viewer?

Try disconnect any peripherals and see if it still happens.

Check for Wake On functions in the BIOS. Some motherboards can even wake on VGA activity.

The thing is it's only started doing it since I reinstalled windows about 5 days ago, I did update all the drivers to the latest ones so I'd imagine that's introduced something.

I had this issue.. it was the router broadcasting something. Couldn't be disabled, and never did resolve it.

I forgot to mention that you can also use...

    Code:
    powercfg -devicedisablewake "item"
...to prevent it waking the machine up once you've narrowed it down. I suspect you could also use its entry in device manager too (Power Management > Allow this device to wake computer).

Aha that's really useful to know, next time it does it, I'll try that bit of code to see what woke it up.

    Thanks.

    You could try this.

Open 'Device Manager' and navigate to 'Mice and other pointing devices' and double click to open it. Double click on the entry for your Mouse then click on the 'Power Management' tab. Remove the tick from 'Allow this device to wake the computer'.
