Anyone know of an application that you can use to locate someone by their cell phone number? I remember a friend of mine had an app like that for his iphone, is there anything like this for android?

You have to have an account with them, and you login on the website and follow the instructions i believe.
This allows you to track your own phone and forward calls, lock it etc in the event of it being stolen.

On the other hand looking back at your first post it would appear that you actually want something to track other peoples phones? amirite?

If so then Google Latitude which is part of Google Maps may be more what your looking for.

Aha. Well is this kinda like a parent tracking a child or friends tracking each other or tracking without having access to the other device?

called snooping that isnt it and its not legal LOL

you cant track someone else phone because you feel like it. Most software that you buy tracks your own phone for when its stolen or whatever or because you signed up to a tracking service like lattitude etc but that requires consent

Some people actually have a valid reason for wanting to know where someone else is. In my case, my father used to have a gambling addiction. So yeah, I wanna be able to check up on him.

You won't be able to do something on a phone unless you...

    A) Either get his permission. (There are services out there to do this)

    B) Do something illegal and behind his back install something on his phone that will log his position to a remote service. There's bound to be an app that will do that, but it'll kill his battery and could get you into a hole frog bucket of trouble.

Bah, I'll find out what app my friend had on his phone. This thing uses the mobile number of the phone in question to see it's location. Thanks anyway.
