I have a bit of cash spar and wondered if a 980Ti is a decent upgrade from a reference 980?

It is yes, however with the next gen of Pascal GPU's set for release in June(ish) you might want to wait - firstly IF Pascal is all it's cracked up to be in terms of performance and secondly the 9 series of cards will inevitably fall in price as they seek to clear existing stocks.

Huge potential to get stung, if Pascal does launch in June.

    I'd wait, TBH, Glen.

My 2p. A 980ti will be a major upgrade. Not sure on what Pascal will offer but if it's anything like when Maxwell came out there may be a £100 or so price drop on 980ti performance. However, first of all that won't happen until late summer and secondly the price of Pascal will all depend on what AMD do. You may end up finding that after waiting all that time you are going to be paying the same £ per performance.

Personally? at your res? I would get a 980ti now. I wouldn't, however, buy one new I would scout OCUK (which you should have access to) and buy a used one for £430 or so (the going rate).

Not sure I would want to spend that sort of cash on second hand.

Doubt it as I think I would prefer to stick with Nvidia. Plus the 980Ti is the better card by my short bit of research, thanks for the offer though.
