Here. It went here: http://mashable.com/2015/01/25/historic-blizzard-nyc-boston/ The way the papers tell it, I'm expecting this:
It's not the first two weeks of Feb yet, so no. I think last year was the first year in a while there was no snow between 1st and 14th Feb.
Had about one day of snow and a couple of days of, well, slightly white coating. Normally it'd be kneehigh by now.
We had about an inch between Christmas and New years but that turned to ice sheets very quickly. We've seen a few flakes here and there since then but nothing to get excited about
So new york state is looking at approx 3 feet of snowfall, and we're expecting sub-zero temperatures from Thursday onwards. If we get a light dusting the country grinds to a halt, and everyone forgets how to drive. We're all doooooomed.
Edinburgh council are pretty good at keeping the main/bus routes open and fair play to Lothian buses as a bit of snow does not seem to slow them down. I have also driven all over the borders of Scotland where you can get a fair bit of snow and have had few issues. Any times I did there was always a helpful tractor not far away. But I do look at the news and despair at England which seems to grind to a halt even if snow is forecast let alone dropped from the sky.
Had 5 minutes of light snow that was it, Im also now flying to New York I've decided. Really doubt we will get anything what we have now is being pulled from around Canada which isnt too bad, just means no snow or real cold weather.
We did have some snow then our default weather setting A (rain) came along and washed it all away. Next along will be default B (wind) followed by default C (wind and rain).
I can't wait for the snow, Get outside with the camera. But, my luck is, lots of snow, and i still miss it due to work. Still, Cycling in the snow is fun Sam
I found cycling in the snow to be safer, and easier than walking, Especially with chunky mountain bike tyres. If it snows badly down this way, it's a 7.7m trip to work, on 'A' Roads, Cycling will be more fun than usual. Sam
I have 23c slicks on my bike so cycling in deep snow or worse, light snow with compacted ice underneath is hell.
