Having been on crossfire so many times and now making a decision on going with Sli I have a question before I divulge on this little mission of mine. Using the same brand and model but different memory on each card (1x2GB & 1x4GB), would there be a problem in running Sli ?
You can still run the cards in SLI with different memory as I've done it your just restricted to the smallest amount. Both cards have to be the same Gpu for example 2 670s can't mix a 670 and a 680. Personally I always stick to the same brand as well for me that's evga only. But that's just for the warranty as I watercool all gpus.
What Rollo said. For a bit of fun I'm currently SLI-ing two 8800 GTSes on an Intel P45 board and they have differing memory amounts and I'm not encountering any issues.
