Have no idea why but that open Pikey rig I chucked together the other day with a spare GTX260 has been showing up in FahMon over the last few 353 projects as 16000ppd odd! Its doing a frame every 20 seconds or so which seems a bit quicker than it should be, from memory it should be around 30 secs a frame.... I restarted FahMon in case it had gone funny like FahMon seems to do sometimes! Heres the proof, going to leave it alone for now I think lol....
Yeah. A list of parts and driver numbers would be interesting. I could see maybe 10000ppd, but 16000ppd is almost double its usual output!!
I done a volt mod on it with 10 x 1000uf capacitors so I can run it at 1000/2400/3000! To be honest though I really do not know why its saying that, this 260 is running 700/1504/2300 which is what ive always had it running at in my main rig, normally I get around 8500-9200ppd from it... I think its an anomaly myself and if I reboot the pikey build I have a feeling it may go back to normal, I cant imagine its genuinely putting that out TBH although I wish it did!!
Is it in a Nvidia mobo? Maybe its a super duper uber turbo mode that noone (including nVidia) knew about!!!
Yikes! Must be a reporting error matey. Fahmon does strange things like that sometimes. 16K PPD (single core) cards - anyone like to guess how far away from that we actually are on the technology tree? I'd say about 12-18 months to be honest!
LMAO - I found out what was causing the 16000ppd chaos but ive never come across anything like why its happening! I'll try to explain - I found this mobo and sempron lying in a back of my part cupboard (N-Force 4 chipset) installed XP in a old HDD and chucked in the GTX260 I had kicking about. It folds away quite happily but what I noticed is the windows clock slows down only while its folding! Example - If I boot up machine it just sits idling in windows showing the right time and it will count up as normal nut soon as I kick off the GPU2 client then time slows down! Hero Nakamuru styleeee! lol I seem to loose 10-20 seconds a minute so when FahMon picks up the time stamps they are closer together than what they really are (hence my first comment up top) so when it works out your average PPD thats why its so high! Very weird and random eh!
