The other parts will be simple to source. Look on eBay, keep an eye out on gumtree and they will turn up. If you get access to the marketplace here then put up a Wanted thread.

Buy the 4850 if you want and keep looking around you will find the rest of what you need

Its definitely better than the netbook you mentioned anyway, no contest. That netbook was completely insufficient for any mw3 settings at all.

Battery consumption
Benchmarks in a couple of games (Eve and D3, can anyone else thing of anything else?)

What im be stuck on is CPU and GPU benchmarks, any suggestions for free software that will help me with this?

Awesome idea! For benchmarks, unless anyone asks for a specific thing like 3DMark or whatever just post the FPS you get at different graphic detail settings in games.

Do you have a recent FPS game to hand? That would expand the review a bit, something like MW3/BF3 which are quite popular. Maybe an RTS like Starcraft, too - the starter edition is free.

Honestly I dont really play FPS's. I'll check out the steam sale and see if there is anothing there I can grab cheaply. (My last FPS purchase is HL2!)
