Ok, so aside from being IDE, and relatively ancient, I'm tossing together a quick little web browser for the g/f's mom. The case I have is a pixxo slim micro-atx. I need a single device cable, but I only currently have two stupid-long dual device ide cables. Any chance someone remembers how you can make them single device cables without screwing them up completely? thanks in advance!
IIRC the IDE connectors pop off of there, and you can re-attach them farther down the cable. Just cut off what you dont need after that.
You do remember correctly. Just don't flip the connector around between removing it and replacing it.
thanks guys! what i eventually ended up trying was to cut the long end off. worked mint! heres hoping i never have to deal with ide again, it makes me feel dirty.
