Soon to start a new build and now turn to which thermal paste to use. The build basically is based around LGA2011 with minimal overclocking just a gentle tweak here and there. Arctic Cooling MX4 seems popular but read elsewhere that Prolimatech PK-1 & PK-3 seem very good PK-3 especially I am after an electrically non conductive paste and am learning towards PK-3 What is the consensus at the moment? Thanks
I'm also interested to see what others think too, as I need new paste and I'm still stuck in the artic silver 5 era.
Using MX-4 Here and have been for a while now. Looked in to other stuff, but couldn't find the stuff that was recommended as being better.
MX-4 for me. Just re TIM'd my GPU with it and has knocked 4C off my idle temp and when running heaven, it just about stays below 70C on the stock fan profile, where as before it was in the high 70's on a much more aggressive fan profile.
Swiftech TIM-Mate is working very well for me. Seems to edge out my PK-1, but what I want is Indigo Xtreme for this setup. No sense in putting all this care into the setup and then cheaping out on TIM.
AS5 or ceramique cheap, available everywhere, and within 1-2c of the more expensive and exotic products
that review shows AS5 and ceramique within 1c of the top performer assuming 'great contact' (no idea what they mean, but i'll go ahead and assume that i have great contact i guess)
Wasn't throwing aspersions on as5 I've used it on nearly all my builds till I went with the liquid ultra.
