Need a replacement for me GF2 MX, GF2 Ti GF3 Ti 200 GF3 GF3 Ti 500 ATi Rad 8500 what do people recomend
ti200 - you can get em nice n cheap (seen them as low as 160) and they give stonking performance Cheers, r.

Get the radeon, its dead fast and £100 less than the geforce3. With the latest drivers its just as good as a ti500 (give or take 5%) and the driver support will get better over time.
Hmm... I'm not convinced about long term support and it's more expensive than the ti200 mentioned above for example. It is a nice card and it's always nice to see a big company like NVidia been given a run for it's money but I wouldn't buy one Just my 2p... cheers, r. p.s. also in a short amount of time the ti500 will have dropped a long way in price where the radeon won't have be much as ati are the only people who make the cards... I wouldn't buy a ti500 and if you insist on the best performance available then maybe the 8500 is the way to go, but the ti200 is the card i would buy if I didn't have a decent card already
i dont think i want another creative card. This won has been wonderful but i fancy an asus ti 200... im still undecided though, cos i want image quality, whether to go for a radieon.. but i have 22.80s set up nice on my puter atm and its just a "hot swap" geforce for ti if u get me ........... hmmmmmmm.............. plus, ill need my student loan in Jan b4 i get it
The radeon is allot better than a ti200 and its not much more expensive (im not a pricing expert). But it has performance equal to the ti500 thats very expensive. Untill price of the ti500 drops (i doubt it will drop to 8500 levels any time soon) the radeon is the obvious choice. Admitedly ATI dont have the best record for driver support, although thats realy because nvidia do a very good job with drivers. But so far ATI are fixing bugs that appear quickly and they appear to be competing very well. Plus ATI have moved to a unified driver system (as nvidia use to great effect) that should provide support for this card (and its predecessors) for a long time to come.
Im really thinking about getting the 8500, but im still not sure about the drivers, and thats what i like bout the GF3's i know they are solid
