I was going to be predictable and say the "tears in rain" scene from Blade Runner, but then remembered the final scene in The Usual Suspects, where Verbal is released and the cop finally puts it all together. In isolation, it's good, but as a final scene it's awesome. Even the guy who put it up youtube agrees with me
Dat Ennio Morricone Harmonica Man, so atmospheric and enigmatic. Also brings back good memories of Fields of the Nephilim's Dawnrazor... The squeaky windpump sound inserted at the beginning of Dust. Have to have a dam' good think about a fave movie scene.
Bit of a ludicrous question for me to answer as I really struggle to order my favorite films, let alone the individual scenes within them. That said, this one is certainly up there somewhere and it's the first one that tends to spring to mind for this question. Play from around 7mins 45secs. If you can't be arsed to check the vid, it's the Emperor's Throne Room finale from Return Of The Jedi, which starts from the bit where Vader is searching for Luke, who's hiding in the shadows:
Always loved this scene from Heat. Though it's hard to decide between this, the shootout, and the ending. Loved the music leading up to this scene too.
It would have to be from either my two favourite films which are Hellraiser or The Crow. Tomorrow when I am sober I will think about my favourite scene.
Shoot out Shoot out SHOOT OUT SHOOT OUT There's never been a shoot out with better audio, one of the very few movies where the guns actually sound like guns being fired.
All three or four scenes which have been mentioned from Heat are too hard to decide between, it really is one of the best films ever made. I have quite a few favourites from Public Enemies, Collateral and Pulp Fiction as well.
This has stuck in my mind, together with the lament 'Sgt. MacKenzie' <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/fuaSi-H0oGY?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Several from Good Will Hunting, there's a number of scenes from that film that have become totally iconic, but the park scene in particular: Wish this had the preceding 'sceptered isle' monologue included, one of the best bits of the film: LOTR has too many to count, but if I had to pick: Another two of my personal favourites are the 'Ghosts in the Machine' scene and the 'Sarah' scene from I, Robot, which sadly aren't uploaded anywhere. It's an average film but those two scenes are brilliant. Ditto for The Hunchback of Notre Dame's opening scene, which doesn't exist online in its entirety for copyright reasons. edit - Forgot about this gem:
Had me chuckling for a while. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNLHzNtO58M Can't get the embedded video option to work.
how has no one has mentioned the table scene in Django yet? for those of you who havent seen it the glass broken at 4 seconds really did cause dicaprio hand to bleed badly, Spoiler the bloody hand across the face was completely improvised and that is genuine terror on her face as he does it.
Good shout on Django Gunsmith! Some brilliant dialogue and acting in that film! Also worth mentioning are a couple of scenes from True Grit (the Coen brothers interpretation) and The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. I'll try to find YouTube clips when I get in front of a computer.
