am I the only person that thinks the cpu block is on sideways ?

the fins on most 'blower' type cards always run front to back, but your seems to run across the flow of air...maybe a previous reviewer put it on sideways ? would explain the toasty temps if it is the wrong way ?

Ha! well spotted; I took that shot when re-building the card, and then realised it was on wrong, derp.

The 650 Boost is listed on Scan at £141.18, and the 660 non Ti is on there at £142.39.

This might be an isolated case in the UK though as in Spain for example the 650ti boost is 160€ (around 140 quid) and the 660 is 200€ so there´s a decent price difference.

For UK pricing retailers have really shot them self in the foot with this, converting the US price of $149 comes out around £100.
And from Luciel comment it would seem other country's are similar :(
Damn greedy UK retailers need to drop there prices.

It's nothing to do with greedy retailers, their markups will be no greater than anywhere else.

Lol..will Nvidia ever learn to price a card correctly.

The GPU market desperately needs a viable 3rd choice to shake these two cosy cartel/price fixing idiots out of their arrogant complacency.

And I assume Nvidia will now let the non TI 660 die a quiet EOL death, just as AMD are about to kill off the 1Gb 7850?

Then forgive me for being dumb, but how do you explain that vast price difference from a 650 boost to a 660 in other country's being about £50 yet in the UK the price difference is £2

There was a viable 3rd choice but it did not sell at all so it went bankrupt.

They may not be even 2 choices come the end of the year.

PowerVR and Matrox haven't gone bust? I remember them being the viable alternatives. I assume you are referring to 3DFX, which I have always thought mismanagement lead to their downfall rather than low sales.

I would like to see reviews comparing them to similar cards from a couple of generations ago.I have a AMD 5850 and would like to see improvements similar priced or even cheaper cards would give me. At the moment all I see are how fast card are compared to cards out now. Not really much use to me.

I find Anandtech's bench very useful in cases like this. Here's a link to their 650Ti vs 5850 comparison - it's very close in terms of performance:
