Too bad it's still far too high for my stock Compaq casing - my parents refuse to let me switch (casing). :(

Old cases allow you to upgrade without the parents or wife knowing what you're doing - as long as the ventilation is ok...

    Huh?

I've upgraded the internal components, but having a good HSF that doesn't use a backplate (I can't be arsed to dismantle everything) that is under 140mm is nearly impossible in Singapore.

Anyone else seeing a colour scheme match with the Fractal case? :)

When I first saw this cooler I was quite impressed by its looks. Very simple but smart (if you can say that about a cooler). I like the fan housing especially. Its about time they used something better than a stupid and ugly piece of wire. On the whole I would definately consider this on my way to buy a Titan Fenrir.... Speaking of which, I just wish they would release a special blue edition.

Another good value cooler from Akasa, they seem to have things pretty well sorted in the tower cpu cooler field! Might have to invest in one of these myself to replace an old akasa 965 :)

Well done to Akasa. This almost looks sleek enough to make me want to rip out my watercooling and go back to air, almost.

I just purchased the Nero a few weeks ago from the same company, excellent value for money when trying to squeeze a few more £'s out the budget :D

Any reason LGA 1156 isn't mentioned? Looks like a good option, especially if mounting is easier than anything else on the market... but I won't be interested unless it supports the 1156 socket as it's my most likely upgrade path when I next upgrade in a few years time.

Intel will have new sockets in 2011 anyway, so if you don't want to upgrade now I would not worry too much about the cooling.

I brought one for my i7 920, but clocked at 3.2ghz.

I also brought a xigmatek midgard case.

Disappointed that under those clocked settings my max sustained prime test hit an almighty 85c.

Would you expect it to be this hot at such a mild overclock?

Any help from anyone dealing with similar kit would be great!

I have all cooling fan bays filled, top bottom and additional in the dvd rom bays.

I would have thought a higher clock and lower temp?

    Any help greatly appreciated!
