    Woah what the f----

How is this going to fit in to the (massively) Expanded Universe? I bought every single book for over a decade when I was younger, and the lore/canon in the EU goes way beyond what you would expect, and extends in Star Wars terms for decades and decades after the end of Episode VI.

For those that care, Han marries Leia and has three kids, one of whom turns to the dark side in later life, plunging the galaxy back in to civil war. Luke marries Mara Jade and also has children. The Rebel Alliance becomes the New Republic, and is invaded decades after by an alien species that puts the entire galaxy at risk of extinction, but they eventually rebound. In between there are literally hundreds of thousands of words and many many books.

    Agghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhghghghghghghghghgzzzcoughzzhzzzshpitzzzzzxzxwtfzzxzxwtfaaaaawtfwtfwtfwtf!

I'm one of the Star Wars generation. I was there when 'Star Wars Episode IV A new hope' was just 'Star Wars'. I was there right from the very beginning! I bloomin well paid £230 for a 9 disc Laser Disc box set for smegs sake! I knew it all this way and that way. I could spot a GNK droid at twenty paces.

As the years passed Star Wars was a constant. Something to savour, remember and enjoy anew. I even once had the pleasure to introduce the movies to a friend from the other side of the world who had never heard of star wars!

And then.... there came the prequels.

    Oh the shame.

And the edits to the classics.

But that was not all. It kept getting worse, it got so bad we ended up with Star Wars disney dance offs. Camp stormtroopers and failed basketball players dancing it up like Axel Rose!

George Lucas should take all the blame for this. From setting Star Wars up as something magical, though personally trashing the movies themselves and allowing the likes of Disney and Microsoft Kinect to pillage the franchise for cheap tricks.

So how does George Lucas make the situation better? He sells to Disney!

    Disney!

    Those smegging Disney muther truckers!

    Aggghhhhghghghghghghghghghghghghghghhghghghgh

    Calm down Gwen....

I guess it will be interesting to see the story continued after the original three.

    From RPS:

“We’re likely to focus more on social and mobile than we are on console,” said Disney CEO Robert Iger during a conference call. ”We’ll look opportunistically at console, most likely in licensing rather than publishing, but we think that given the nature of these characters and how well known they are, and the storytelling, that they lend themselves quite nicely, as they’ve already demonstrated to the other platforms.”

    - sounds great! :waah:

I think it has the possibility to be great for fans. The only problem is that Lucas will still be involved in the film making..

As a Star Wars fan, I'm excited to see more films for the franchise. There's plenty of opportunity to take this exciting places IMO.
