Last Sunday we decided to start a new project, the reason is easy to explain....we couldn´t make any progress on our Pirates Case, because it was already packed and ready for the cebit.

We also had a few cases staying around us, so we thought why not create a new mini itx optimized version of one of them....so we finally picked a Corsair Graphite 600 T as our Base and started to disassemble it....

Our Plan for this Mod is also easy to explain, we´re going to reduce the height of the case about 11 cm, so that we could still integrate a full size PSU, a big Graphic Card and a watercooling setup beside the mini Itx System....

after disassembling all parts we cutted all parts into 3 parts so that we could take away approx. 11 cm in the height of the case....

then...we started to rebuild the case...

Agreed, subbed for something very new! For example, first time I've seen a 200mm intake an a mini ITX case!

    thx m8´s!!!

in the last days we made a lot of progress, but too sad...it´s not really visible....:wallbash:
what we did is quick to explain....after cutting all parts into several pieces....we had to reconnect them.....

So one of the first things we did, was to bend a few angles which should help us to reconnect all pieces and bring more stability to the cutted edges. After that we still had a few gaps and slits which had to be filled with a bit of filler/putty. While filling all gaps, we also filled this small designed by Corsair lettering which was embossed into the mainbase.

Beside that we also changed the lighting color of the 2 x 200mm Fans from white to orange.

And last but not least we sprayed a first coat of test laquer on the first parts, so that we could see which parts still needs some work......

Awesome mod. I don't like the look of the 490 case but it's starting to look good as an itx case.

Have subbed and can not wait to see the finished job.

    thx a lot m8´s!!!

me too, but that will took a few days ...until all parts are ready .... :D(not to mention that we already tested if all parts can be assembled as they should :thumb:)

in the last days we made a bit of progress....atm the inner case is nearly finished so that you can´t see where we made the cuts....the plastic parts still needs some work...but as soon as they´re finished you won´t find a scratch on them :D

Beside that we also started to build a midplate / PSU Cover and an HDD tray which will be placed under the midplate....

    thx!!

yesterday we "finished" the cover for the bottom of the case, for that we add another piece of metal to the prepared cover and added the first coat of paint...beside that we drilled all holes in the hdd drive cage.

We also prepared the side panel for the next cuts ...so that we can continue the work on it today...
