this is for my friends computer that i just cleaned up and upgraded the ram for. He had 1x4GB of 1600mhz Samsung ram installed in his gaming machine. Now he is upgraded to 2x4GB of Crucial Ballistix tactical series ram also at 1600mhz with XMP enabled. He mainly plays CSGO and was getting aprox 100 fps, but now is hovering about 50fps with highs of 80fps. any ideas?
Double check where the RAM is installed, refure to the motherboard manual for details. Double check the ram setting in the BIOS/UEFI and make sure they have the correct settings.
its this system: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?p=3816314#post3816314 Intel Haswell Pentium G3220 ECS Z87H3-A3X motherboard Sandisk 128GB SSD, Win 7 Pro Corsair H50 KFA2 GTX 560 1TB Samsung EcoDrive, Cooler Master 460w PSU to be honest i went to his house to see what he was talking about and for that spec i think 50-70fps (in nuke, new updated map) and 100-140fps in old maps in CSGO is what i would expect with his spec. He says he use to get a little more but i dont think he did, as i very much doubt he checked the fps ingame much. dont really have the option of switching the ram back to see if he was right.
well.. i'm not a csgo enthusiast but a quick google turnewd up this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HO7R2mxNoOY showing a gtx 560 running at an average of 60-80 (fraps /nofraps) with an fx-8150 and the g3220 is from what i can see much better performing cpu in some way shape or form. so i think his fps claim might be a little far fetched. but again i don't know CSGO.
