My last project, Bulldogs box, was finally finished a few days ago 31/10/10 to be exact, after numerous set backs.
So now it's time for another one:D

I'll give you a bit of back ground on this project before I get stuck in to it.

This is going to be a Christmas present for my youngest son Dylan, he turned 7 a few weeks ago, he's into the usual stuff that 7 year old boys are into. His favorite program at the moment is Ben 10 alien force. I put up a thread a few days back for a project name and based on that the name Heat Blast (one of the aliens) was the name most people went for. So here it is...

    PROJECT HEAT BLAST...

Right then, here we go. Firstly , I'm using the Xigmtak Utgard case, it a good case to work with and a nice size. I'll be leaving the inside exactly as it is, the orange fans and fittings, fit in perfectly with the colour scheme I'll be using and a major bonus is that is saves me a few days work:D

So first of all take one pristine case , pull it apart and chop it up...

The side panel is not what I would call pretty so thats the first thing thats going to get carved up....

One Xigmatek Utgard, thats how it looks

This is the design I've chosen for the new side panel...

Time to get the jig saw out and do some cutting...:D

And this is what I ended up with, a nice little flamed panel. Needs a bit of smoothing down, but I'll do that when I get round to painting it.

Thats it for now....thanks for looking:thumb:

    @ Paul...cheers mate

@ Mattmc91, it'll be firmly bonded to a plexi panel, then it'll be nice and rigid

    @ skullen. Thanks mate.

    @ Kovoet. Cheers Mark.

Still needs quite a bit of work, but I'll sort that out tomorrow and get it ready for painting.

Nice. Hiding in plain sight too. Liking that. I'm looking forward to doing my first mod soon, get a bit of practice in then in a couple of years can start modding for the kids too, at 2 years old they are a bit young at the minute. What is the final plan jeff?

2 might just be a bit young another year or so will be fine.

I was doing a bit of cabling earlier and Dylan was standing next to me chatting away, all he see's is yet another PC in bits, lol , it's great. What helps in an ironic way is that I've trashed my knee so I'm off work for a few weeks which means I can do the bulk of what I need to do while he's at school.

    And the final plan...hehehe...Stay tuned..lol;)

    Cheers Tell.

Ah the knee, it popped out again yesterday, I was just starting to do short distances with out the crutches, so looks like at least another week off. I need to go back to work and earn some money to feed my modding addiction. Just as well I've got 90% of the stuff I need for this build.
