Hi all. Going to be aiming for a 4.5-4.6 overclock on a 3570K in one of the above boards.
Do you think i will run into any problems with compatibility? I ask because i have seen no reviews of ivybridge overclocking on z68.
Oh and if your around Bindi your help would be much appreciated.

Neither board comes with BIOS Flashback so you'll need a Sandy Bridge chip to upgrade the BIOS first. I don't know about overclocking sorry.

I agree with bloody_pete, get the Asus M5G, I have that motherboard and it supports Ivybridge. I have the 3770k and I clocked that very easily to 4.6ghz so with a little more tweaking you might reach that speed.

    There should be a 7GHz..

We've definitely had that in our lab.

    A lot ;)

And it has a lot to do with chip binning. Most will only do 6-6.5.

The 7GHz that leaked onto the next in March/April was actually ours on M5G from Feb when the OC guys were testing. Someone leaked our internal test doc :(:(

Most Z68s will probably not go as far with Ivy than SB.
