    Guys,

    im stuck...what to get !!
Two in the firing line are...

    Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 £280

    or...

    Sapphire 21197-00-40G HD 7970 £340.

My budget is around the £280 mark so that ticks the GTX box, although is it really worth hanging on for another pay day and getting the 7970? or maybe even for something else?

If I was in your position I would go for the 670 as seems pretty good value to me. What res are you using? multi screen? Either will be a nice upgrade from your current card.

    670. Better value, smaller, uses much less power, and unless you're gaming at 2560x1600 will run anything, any way you want.

Have a GTX 670 at 2560 by 1440 and not noticed any issues gaming at this resolution.

Only The Witcher 2 manages to kill it with UBER enabled! :D

I would definitely pickup the Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 for £280

    Similar to Blogins:

I'm running a 2GB GTX 670 at 2560x1600, and I'm very happy with it. No doubt, if I started adding uber texture pack mods to Crysis it might struggle.

Just fitted an EK waterblock to it and, after an hour of looping Unigine Heaven, the delta temperature is 11 degrees! Yup, idles at 29 and peaks at 40. This only at stock clocks so far, and with the fans at Medium.

Also, it's incredibly small with the air cooler removed. :)

Even were the prices the same, would still tend to favour the 670, although perhaps not by a wide margin. Given price difference, it's a bit of a no brainer. What's, perhaps, more open to debate is WHICH GTX 670. Is it worth getting one of the pricier factory OC versions. Perhaps that's slightly off thread.
