My new project is to turn a DUX V1351 radio/recordplayer from 1954 into a HTPC system. Im using an P8H67-I Deluxe that Asus very kindly sponsored me with and along with that 8gb of ddr3 SO-DIMM and a 60gb Force3 SSD from my friends at Corsair. I havent landed a cpu yet but im working on it.

First some images of the radio in it original state

First thing to do is to strip out all the old and broken internals to make room for some brand new hardware.

The top needed some cooling so i added two 120 mm CM Sickleflow fans

I decided to redesign both the front and the back of the case since i wasnt really happy with it and why not take full advantage of my newly built CNC milling workshop in my garage.

Wow! What a start!! You're turning a beauty into a masterpiece. Those acrylic panels are amazing, and a perfect fit... This is my kind of modding. Wish I had a CNC machine... Keeeeeeping eyes on this one I will.

WOoo, mmmh, nice ! Well, you definetly need an usb radio tuner, a rotary encoder, and a piece of code to link the frequency displayed on the front to the radio tuner..... Uh, never mind you redesign the front :D

A small update, theres not been much action in this build lately because ive been waiting for parts and a few days ago i got some nice packages from my friends at Corsair

A nice little Force 3 SSD
    [IMG]
    And 8gigs of DDR3so-dimm
    [IMG]

Now im just waiting for a psu from Fractal Design and i can proceed with the build. Also im still hunting around for a cpu but i havent managed to get hold of one yet. more updates will follow as soon as the psu gets here.

Is there a reason you're choosing a fractal design psu?
And are the ram installed behind the motherboard?
    What cpu are you considering?

    bump :)

Well yes and its that appart from the psu having just the right dimensions i love Fractal design both their cases and psus is high in quality and low in price. The ram is installed exaxtly the same on this mainboard as in every other mainboard. The cpu choice is depending on what i can get but im aiming at a 2600K or a 2500k.

Ive had alot of experience with the fractal design psus and i can safely say that its a very good choice. Also i now know that a 2600K is on its way so the cpu problems are gone :D

Some progress has been made and damn its tight but it fits :) ive got a 2600k and a CM Hyper 212 evo cooler on their way to me and the cooler will clear the roof of the case with about 1cm and thats not much but its enough :)

Getting all the hardware in place now but the cable mess was to big and i had to cut away all the cables thats wasnt used to be able to get everything in. So now im just left with the 24pin and the 4pin and a single sata cable. This did wonders for the look and theres plenty of room.
