I love computer cases where you can't see it is a computer!
On a related note, some time ago I saw a Doom 3-themed case in the same vein as this. Was that you too?

Ive had several people ask me about the tools and the product I use to build this case so heres a brief description..



Polystyrene or "plastic styrene" I use 00.40mm and a 00.60mm 48x96 in sheeting.
I use a company called Calsak Plastics and each sheet retails for about $25.00 . Most hobby store scarry this type of styrene in smaller sheets but its very expensive.




Clear Lexicon and Clear Polyester, I use this for my windows ,control panels or any light fixtures in the case.



Novelty styrene pieces. Plastructs and Evergreen make a wide variety of finishes.



I use several types of glues. I use the IPS weldon for all structural pieces. This acts as a cold weld , welding the to pieces of styrene together. I only use super glue on the small non structural bits.



Files and scribers



Dremel tool..This by far is my favorite modding tool and use it more then anything else.



Various Knifes and Blades.



I use a Iwata Hb-Cs dual action brush with a 80psi compressor.
I picked up both these at TCP Global for about $200 shipped.
The Iwata will spay several types of medium but requires consistant cleaning to insure good spay quality.



Acrylic paints and thinner .Non toxic and easy clean-up.



Scale Modelers square

Most of these products can be purchased at your local Arts and hobby store









Cable Management Towers
Ill be using these to run some of my cables thru.Instead of hiding the cables Im going to enclose them in some small round stock to simulate airducks and vent pipes.

Active steam. I use a small railroad modelers stream generator to achieve this effect

Water cooling plateform. This will enclosed within the case and all the tubeing will be contained in the structure










Im also adding a fan cooling option in case that I ever move away from water cooling in this build.

Some rub on letters and vinyl letters that Ill be using in todays project
So lets get started!!



Today were going to be creating a very simple stencil with our vinyl and rub-on letters.

First Im going to lay down a base coat of flat white, then lay down my vinyl letters.
Next I will spay a mixture of german grey and rust over the top of my mask then remove the mask revealing I decal underneath.Then I finish up by adding a very simple fade and weather effect.



Ill be adding a Airlock sign to this door



This is the location of where I want to put it.I marked out in pencil a rough idea of where I want it to go.





I masked out the area and started to spray even coats of flat white.





The small vinyl letters Ill be using for the mask











Artist tape , Ill be using this to create my hazard lines




Mixing gernam grey and rust for my top coat color



Q-tip test.. if the paint is to thin it will drip from the Q-tip
Im looking for the consistency of skim milk

Now lets peel away the stencil



Looks good, now the rest



Oops, looks like I had some peeling!
No problem..Ill make this work for me by adding my weathered and chipped paint to this area

Amazing work Ron

i was actually considering getting my own airbrush for something like this after seeing your videos i went to my local hobby shop and noticed they sold the same plastic styrene sheets and tamiya paints!

Im looking forward to seeing more work from this

the video log is great too, shows us a lot more of the details than what a bunch of pics can
