This is my first mod, a home made case for a itx system unfortunatly i didn't take any pics during construction here are the pics of my case, comments are VERY welcome [[ ]]
Very compact, I like. Few suggestions: Could you get L-frame aluminium sections for the cathodes? Would theme them in nicely, let you do a bit more cable tidying and also light up the guts of the case more. Why have you used plain sheet metal for the CD drive? If you could match up the corn pattern it would be very nice and stealthy These bits aside, it's a cute little case. Scratchbuilt, yah?
Well mate, it's unfurtinate you didn't take any photo's during it's construction. But it's looks so sweet. Good job. I like it..... And welcome to the forums
thanks for the suggestions i like your idea for the cold cathodes. the drive will be changed for a dvd recorder one and the word "industrial" will be put in the the front plate i will try to do a better arrange for the cables yes a made this from scratch
THe cables look pretty tidy already so i dont think he realy needs that. As for the plain sheet i think it looks better just the way it is i dont know how to explain it but the difference in looks just makes it stand out and POP. By the way good job and from scratch i give you my seal of approval.
Hiding lights almost always improves the look of the case when your main goal in using them is to light the case, not show off the lights. And yes the cables are lookign good, but there are a few white ones that, whilst not messy as such, would still look better stealthed to match the look of the case, Take the CCFL stuck the side, for example - add an L-channel hiding it that runs across to the front and you can guide the wire along that. Even trim the channel down to 1cm or so so you get it widening out where the light is. The use of metal depends on whether he wants it stealthed or standing out, I suppose, but the plain sheet looks a bit dull next to the raised corn pattern (is that what you call it?)
make the ftont fan metal, itll fit in. and some chainlink fencer wouldnt hurt, i dont know where, but somewhere
looks awesome.... one question - where did you get the key thing? I got one off of a website and it works the wrong way = it turns off when the key is in and on and turns on when the key is out...sort of defeating the purpose....thanks
thanks for all the comments the key system i bought here in Portugal, the store doesn't have a website i will try to reorganize the cables since i'm going to change the drive to a dvd burner the front: i like the diference front the aluminium types and i'm planing to etc the word "industrial" on the drive plate. the fan is a aerocool aluminium soooo i like it thanks for everything, i promise i will take pictures of my next project from scratch
I like that idea putting chain link fince on the windows would look pretty cool i think. Wouldnt be to hard or expencive either.
Just google chain link fence i cant get the link to link so just look it up pretty comin stuff you will probally say ah duh when you c it.
Nope not finnished yet !!! still going to change the drive, put some letters and hidden the cold cathodes and the wired
