    Hi

Anyone in the Steam home streaming beta? How's it performing for you?

I'm getting 20fps when streaming 2560x1440. 30fps at 1920x1080 and needing to drop down to something like 720p to get 60fps. Only tried it on Crysis 2 so far. 1080p is playable but clearly not optimal.

This with the client (A Macbook) running over 802.11n Wi-Fi.

More experimentation needed when I get the chance.

I found I was getting horrible performance on 2.4ghz WiFi. So I bought some homeplugs, now getting around the same performance as above. Do you live in an urban area? Interference seems to be the difference?

Yes, built up area. Can see between three and eleven other wi-fi networks depending on the weather.

I've been keenly waiting for this feature to come out, I'd love to know if there noticeable input lag while playing games.

So is it your home connection speed that limits the fps? I've got Gigabit ethernet but I'm not in the beta. Would love to test it out!

    So is Wi-fi a no-go?

Which Homeplug are you using to achieve OP's performance?

Wifi for streaming 1080p video is always a bad call. Most 200mbps homeplugs on the other hand do a sterling job! If nothing else, its about the stable, consistent connection.

These are on special today btw!

Really depends on the Bit-Rate tbh. I can stream 1080p over wifi perfectly.
